Subs are short pieces of tubular material used to increase the versatility of the main component of the drilling string. 
 

cross-over sub

Cross-over sub acts for conversion and connection of drill stem component in petroleum,natural gas and geology drilling work.It is used mainly for connecting of upper drill tools and lower drill tolls during drilling operations.

 

Lifting Subs

Lifting subs are offered with a flow through or as a conventional design in a variety of sizes to provide ease of handling long products or heavy downhole BHA components. Lift subs are specifically utilized during make-up or break-out operations. The sub's elevator recess and connections are machined to fit the elevator and drill collar connections, as per API specifications.
